about your connection to fictospec identity: i've always loved writing self insert stories with my favorite characters since i was a child, and in elementary i deeply longed to have a friend group like harry potter's. since then, my self inserts have been more romantic in nature, focusing on partnerships. i discovered that i was likely fictoromantic (though i didn't know that was a term that even existed at the time), when i was 16, with a character that i will refer to as T - he started as one character but now has grown into something more complex than himself, and is not just contained to his one media. we have been together since, and while we go through periods of me not "needing" him, i am trying to get closer.
